Several weeks ago, the State of California finalized the AB 1103/AB 802 Energy Benchmarking Regulations. This has been a long process and we have been involved every step of the way. The bottom line is that as of June 1, 2018, all buildings over 50,000 square feet – with some exemptions – need to be benchmarked and data shared with the Energy Commission. MAJOR LEGISLATIVE DEADLINE APPROACHES

Next Friday is a major legislative deadline that requires all policy committees to pass any bill with a fiscal cost to the State, on to Appropriations Committee, or they are “dead” for the year.  This basically means that in the next week, hundreds of bills we care about will have a hearing in the Capitol and is one of the busiest times of year.  Read More →

Governor Brown issued a proclamation declaring a special election for the 32nd Senate District recently vacated by Tony Mendoza who resigned after an investigation into sexual harassment claims.  In a bizarre twist to the story, former-Senator Mendoza has announced he will be running for the seat.  Should be interesting.  Click here to see what a Special Election Proclamation looks like.  Read More →
